Housing is pathetic compared to UO and a more expensive painful process too. You die you lose everything on you if you can't get back to your body and grab it no insurance. This is a very poor attempt to recreate UO in it's first year or so. I played UO for the first 12 years of it and this game is not what you are looking for. While this might be a lot closer to UO than shroud is make no mistake it is not worth your time at all. Shroud of the Avatar was a bit painful, I'm hoping this isnt another "make it and forget it" grab. No hate here at all just curiosity, if any of you can relate and currently playing, how does this measure up? I will admit that I've become more of a PvE player as the years pass and I have noticed that there are PvE servers so thats less of a concern. Honestly, someone just needs to make an isometric mouse-movement open PvP MMO ripping off UO's skill and magery system and put it on a small map so when most people get angry on the forums and leave the world will still feel populated with the remaining people who like this kind of thing. It has a UO feel/aesthetics to it though, so you might get some nostalgic warmness from that.
One third of my character build has gotten me some regs and a tiny amount of gold. I'm around 85 in my fighting skills and I've received one treasure map and seen two dungeon chests. In LoA, you do combat again and again and hardly see people. Magery had awesome spells like polymorph and incognito. Stealth thieves could sneak around dungeons, snooping into people's backpacks and stealing their magic weapons, etc. In UO, stealth lockpickers could sneak around dungeons grabbing loot from chests. It doesn't have the social aspects and the utility parts of character skills is virtually irrelevant to play, essentially a waste of skill points.
